Adam Thielen has been a consistent piece of the Minnesota Vikings’ offense for years, while Justin Jefferson has exploded onto the scene with a fantastic performance last weekend against the Tennessee Titans. Is there enough room in the Minnesota offense for a pair of pass catchers to see fantasy value?
Let’s dive into what we can expect from both of them in Week 4.
Fantasy Football analysis: Vikings WRs Adam Thielen, Justin Jefferson
Thielen had a disappointing day from a statistical perspective. He caught three of the five passes that went his way for 29 yards, but he scored a 16-yard touchdown to satisfy those who put him into the lineup. Hardly anybody would’ve thought to put Jefferson into fantasy lineups, but the rookie exploded with a seven-catch performance for 175 yards and a touchdown. He received a team-high nine targets.
Thielen hasn’t been seeing too many targets come his way, but he’s too good of a player to dismiss at this point. The potential emergence of Jefferson could be good news for Thielen and the rest of the Vikings’ passing game.
The Vikings are scheduled to face the Houston Texans on Sunday. Houston did a good job against the Pittsburgh Steelers’ passing game, limiting Ben Roethlisberger to 237 yards passing and two touchdowns. Pittsburgh’s top receiver was JuJu Smith-Schuster, who finished with 43 yards and scored a touchdown.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Thielen can be inserted as a low-end No. 1 receiver this weekend. Jefferson is definitely in need of being on rosters after a breakout performance, but inserting him into a fantasy lineup may be risky.
