What to do with Carson Wentz in Week 4 fantasy football

Philadelphia’s quarterback has been a mess this season. Don’t expect that to change this week.

It’s been an embarrassing year for the Eagles so far. From losing their first two to punting on a fourth down with less than 20 seconds to go in overtime, that’s how the season is going. More surprising, quarterback Carson Wentz, who threw just seven picks all of last season, has already tossed a half dozen interceptions, and is actively part of the problem in Philly.

Fantasy Football analysis: Eagles QB Carson Wentz

Wentz had his best week of the season, from a fantasy perspective at least, last week in their tie with the Bengals. Despite throwing two picks, he salvaged his day by adding 65 rushing yards and a score on the ground. Not that too many people had him in their lineups at that point.

In fact, it’s gotten so bad that head coach Doug Pederson is already having to swat away questions about benching his starting quarterback.

Don’t expect things to get much better this week against the 49ers. The Eagles lead the league in giveaways, and only four teams have allowed more sacks. Sure, the Niners are a little banged up on defense, but not enough to suddenly turn them into the Jets. Find better options than Wentz.
