What to do with Baker Mayfield in Week 4 fantasy football

Cleveland’s QB looks like a decent option against a weak Dallas defense this week.

The best thing you can say about Baker Mayfield’s season so far is that it hasn’t been terrible; at least he’s not costing his team wins with his play. On the other hand, it’s not really anything special, either, especially not when you consider the kind of hype he got earlier in his career. That’s leaving him out of most fantasy lineups, but there’s reason to think that this week could be a little different.

Fantasy Football analysis: Browns QB Baker Mayfield

Mayfield has thrown two touchdowns in both of his last two games. But those were fairly easy ones against Cincinnati and Washington, games where the Browns were able to stick to their preferred method of running the hell out of the ball.

That’s not going to be an option this week against the Dallas Cowboys, who, for all their faults, do have a top-10 offense. One of the problems with Dallas is their leaky defense that’s allowing opposing quarterbacks to post huge numbers, nine touchdowns in their last two games. And while Mayfield isn’t Russell Wilson or Matt Ryan, the combination of a bad Dallas defense and a game where the Browns are going to have to throw the ball more to keep pace, makes him a decent start this week.

Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation

Start Baker Mayfield.
