You can point to a lot of reasons for Minnesota’s 0-3 start: a struggling defense, poor coaching, etc. And while quarterback Kirk Cousins hasn’t exactly been a liability, he’s not doing much to help matters either. That’s made him an easy player to skip over in fantasy this season too.
Fantasy Football analysis: Vikings QB Kirk Cousins
Cousins rebounded from a three-pick performance in Week 2 with a three-touchdown outing last week against Tennessee. It was his best game to date, but he did also throw a pair of interceptions.
With a breakout performance from rookie receiver Justin Jefferson in that game, and the always steady Adam Thielen, the Vikings have the players for a decent passing game. But it’s just not there yet. Don’t look for things to improve much this week against Houston. Despite a brutal schedule, the Texans have done a decent job of limiting the damage from quarterbacks like Lamar Jackson and Ben Roethlisberger. And if those guys are having average days against this team, I wouldn’t trust Cousins to suddenly shift gears and have a huge game.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Sit Kirk Cousins.
