Tight end has been a tricky position all season, but this week, some spots seem pretty clear cut. Coming off of consecutive games with a touchdown, is Mike Gesicki someone you shouldn’t even think twice about hitting the start button for this week? Let’s break it down.
Fantasy Football analysis: Dolphins TE Mike Gesicki
First off, we can’t be fooled by touchdowns. For anyone who looked even an inch further, they’d see that in Week 3 Gesicki’s touchdown was also his lone reception. It was surprising to see Ryan Fitzpatrick target his beast of a tight end just three times and still win the game, especially after a Week 2 performance with eight catches on 11 targets.
Secondly, we can’t be fooled by a down week. The Dolphins take on the Seahawks this week (O/U 53 points) and Russell Wilson has shown that he won’t be stopped easily (or at all) this season. The Fins are expected to play from behind, and Fitzpatrick will surely be gunning away. Even with a three-target outing in Week 3, Gesicki still leads the team in targets. Week 4 is setting up to be an incredibly fantasy-friendly spot for the young tight end.
