What to do with Tyler Eifert in Week 4 fantasy football

Not even a rematch with his former team make Eifert a viable fantasy option this week.

We’re far removed from those halcyon days of the Andy Dalton-Tyler Eifert mind meld on the field, like in 2015 when the former Bengals tight end caught 13 touchdown passes. Now he’s with the Jaguars, and despite the once strong brand, Eifert is really nothing more than a player best left on the waiver wire in fantasy leagues.

Fantasy Football analysis: Jaguars TE Tyler Eifert

Eifert has 10 targets and six catches through three games. He’s got 55 yards and a touchdown to show for it. The Jags have better options in the passing game, like receivers Keenlan Cole and Laviska Shenault. They also do plenty of passing to the running backs. And making it that much harder for Eifert to get looks from quarterback Gardner Minshew is the looming return of D.J. Chark, their No. 1 receiver who missed last week’s game.

While it’s tempting to look at the matchup with Eifert’s former team as a chance for some revenge, on the scoreboard anyway, that’s best left to the Saturday papers for nice sports profile pieces. As far as fantasy goes, skip him.
