What to do with Jordan Akins, Darren Fells in Week 4 fantasy football

Houston has a favorable match up as they take on the Vikings

The 0-3 Houston Texans welcome the also winless Minnesota Vikings this weekend.

The Vikings pass defense has struggled so far in 2020, giving up nearly 300 yards per game in the air to their opponents. Texans tight ends could be a good play against a defense that struggled to cover bigger targets.

Fantasy Football analysis: Texans TEs Jordan Akins, Darren Fells

Akins, when given an opportunity, has been a big part of the Houston offense. In their week two loss to the Baltimore Ravens he brought in seven catches for 55 yards. If something is thrown in his vicinity, he catches it. On the 12 targets hes seen this year, he’s come down with 11 of them for 122 yards and a touchdown. He’s struggled to see targets though, getting just five between the team’s two games that weren’t against the Ravens.

The Texans other tight end, Darren Fells, also has a touchdown, but has been far less productive in every other category. Of his eight targets he’s only caught four of them for 42 yards.

The Vikings defense should provide ample opportunity for these guys to get looks though. Over its last two games they’ve allowed 12 catches and 188 yards to opposing tight ends, though have still yet to allow one of them to get in the end zone.

Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation

The match up seems like a big win for Akins, against a defense susceptible to giving up chunk plays to tight ends.

Start Akins, sit Fells, who has seen fewer targets.
