Game day update: Davante Adams announced on Twitter that he will NOT be playing on Monday against the Falcons.
Green Bay Packers wide receiver Davante Adams has been dealing with a hamstring injury since the team’s Week 2 game against the Lions. It forced him to miss Green Bay’s Week 3 game against the New Orleans Saints. That week, his work was limited to rehab during practice, but he practiced Saturday, for the third day in a row, and is listed as questionable on the final injury report.
The three straight practices bodes well for his availability on Monday night against the Falcons, but look for more information Sunday morning.
Fantasy impact: Packers WR Davante Adams injury
Aaron Rodgers’ top target when he’s on the field, Adams had a huge game in the season opener, catching 14 passes on 17 targets for 156 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Injuries limited his effectiveness in his second game, and he caught three passes for just 36 yards.
When Adams is healthy, he’s a guy who has to be in your lineup, no matter the opponent. If he can play this week, it has the potential to be a huge game for him against a Falcons pass defense that can’t seem to stop anything.
The biggest concern is him playing on a Monday and having an uncertain status. Ideally we get an update Sunday that indicates what the chances are he plays. In the meantime, Marquez Valdes-Scantling will be one to watch. With Allen Lazard already out, MVS should see a boost in targets. If Adams can’t play, it would increase all the more.
