How the public is betting Seahawks vs. Dolphins

“Let Russ Cook?” The Seattle Seahawks should have been letting Russell Wilson “cook” for the past five years apparently.

Russ is on an MVP pace, as he’s led the Seahawks to a 3-0 record, with thrilling wins over the Atlanta Falcons, Dallas Cowboys, and New England Patriots. On the other hand, the 1-2 Miami Dolphins are clearly rebuilding, with losses to the Buffalo Bills and the same Patriots beaten by the Seahawks. The Seahawks and Dolphins game is on the early slate of games, and has a 11:00 a.m. ET kickoff.

The Patriots are currently favored by 5.5 points this week, with a total points betting line of 56.5 points. We’ve got a look at DraftKings Sportsbook betting splits to give us an idea of where the public is at on this divisional matchup.

Seahawks @ Dolphins betting splits

The begging public overwhelmingly thinks the Dolphins are going to win this game, with 96% of the moneyline and 95% of the moneyline handle taking the Seahawks at -245 odds. This is the game that has garnered the single-most consistent bets on a single side, with no other team totaling more than 95% of the total bets.

While bettors are overwhelmingly picking the Seahawks to win the game, the 5.5 point spread hasn’t scared off many bets either - 80% of bets on the spread and 81% of the spread handle have taken the Seahawks despite giving the Dolphins 5.5 points.

While bettors believe the Seahawks will beat the Dolphins decisively, there is little faith in the Dolphins offense to put up points. The over/under line of 54.5 points is the bet that has created the biggest divide among Seahawks-Dolphins bettors this week. 80% of the O/U bets, and 81% of the O/U handle have bet both teams will combine to score over 54.5 points.

Considering both teams are a week removed from putting up over 30 points, and the Seahawks haven’t put up less than 35 points all season, it makes sense why bettors might have faith for the Seahawks to carry the Dolphins to a shootout.
