Best player prop bets for Heat-Lakers NBA Finals Game 3 matchup

We go over some prop bets that stand out ahead of Sunday’s Game 3 matchup between the Los Angeles Lakers and Miami Heat in the 2020 NBA Finals.

After going 4-0 on props in Game 1, we took a step back with a 1-2 night on Friday in Game 2. Jimmy Butler cleared 35.5 points + rebounds + assists very easily. Danny Green got hurt and never really got going and Jae Crowder came 1 long-range shot away from hitting. So it was a couple bad beats. We’ll try and get back on the winning side in Game 3 on Sunday night at 7:30 p.m. ET on ABC. Let’s take a look at some player prop bets to consider on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Tyler Herro over 2.5 3-pointers (+125)

If we just take a look at Herro’s point total on DKSB, we see that it’s set at 18.5. So the book expects Herro to score in that range of points. If that is the case, there’s a decent shot Herro will hit at least 3 outside shots in Game 3. We’re getting juice on the number and I think the desperation from Miami will set in. Couple that with the injuries and Herro will almost have to try and have one of those nutty games like in the Eastern Conference Finals. This feels like a pretty safe play that gives us plus-odds.

Jimmy Butler over 6.5 assists (-110)

You’d think after Butler had 13 assists in Game 2 that we’d get a worse line for this prop. Nope. The number is still pretty reasonable and Butler should be in line for 40+ minutes while operating as the primary PG most of the game. Again, season on the line here for Miami, so Butler’s going to play a ton of minutes and soak up a lot of usage with Dragic unlikely to play again. We need to attack the Heat player props as much as possible with the injuries on that side. The Lakers don’t have as much value because we know what to expect.

LeBron James to record a triple-double (+250)

So LeBron has missed two triple-doubles in the first two games by a combined 1 rebound and 2 assists. This is the make-or-break game. Either the Heat get back into the series or LeBron doesn’t let them. James should go all out to try and take that 3-0 lead and look to end this series swiftly. We saw in Game 5 vs. the Denver Nuggets how big James can go. This isn’t that exact type of spot but I think it’s close enough. James has been right there and I think the triple-double happens in Game 3.
