Best value lineup strategy for Chiefs vs. Patriots Week 4

The Chiefs host the Patriots on Monday night. Who will shine in this week’s DK Showdown?

The Kansas City Chiefs and New England Patriots go head-to-head Monday night in Kansas City. Both teams are have looked good this season, with the Chiefs going 3-0 and coming off a statement win over the Ravens on Monday night. The Patriots are 2-1, but their one loss was against the Seahawks in a close matchup. Unfortunately for the Patriots, they will be without Cam Newton who has Covid-19. That will push Brian Hoyer into the starting spot.

Bill Belichick will likely attack the Chiefs at their weakest spot, their run defense. Sony Michel and Rex Burkhead will get plenty of use in the rushing attack while James White should see short targets against the Chiefs poor linebackers, as they try to slow down the game and not make Hoyer do too much.

For the Chiefs, we know what they can do to any defense and the Patriots aren’t the same defense they were just last season. Patrick Mahomes can turn any receiver into a fantasy star, the question is, which one or three will it be this week?

James White, RB, Patriots, $5,800

White will return this week and he gets a great matchup against a Chiefs linebacker group that has trouble covering good receiving running backs. The Patriots will have plenty of options at running back on Sunday, but White is still the most trusted receiving back and he will likely be needed if Patrick Mahomes has anything to say about it.

Sony Michel, RB, Patriots, $5,600

Michel looked good last week, as the Patriots ran all over the Raiders and he should get good usage in this game against a poor Chiefs run defense. His upside will depend on how close they can keep this game, so if you think the Patriots have a chance of winning, Michel is the play for that projection.

Mecole Hardman, WR, Chiefs, $5,400

Hardman still isn’t getting the snaps he deserves, but whenever he gets a target the odds that something good is going to happen are high. If Hardman is healthy and a reasonable price in a DK Showdown GPP, he must be played.
