San Francisco 49ers running back Raheem Mostert has missed the last two games due to a MCL knee injury, but is getting closer to a return. Coach Mike Shanahan says that Mostert is likely for the Week 6 game against the Rams, but could beat that and return Week 5 against the Dolphins, per David Lombardi.
So far, Jerick McKinnon has performed well in Mostert’s place, but the duo of Mostert and McKinnon is where the team wants to be. Before his injury, Mostert had made his usual biig plays, as he had 23 rushing attempts for 148 yards and a touchdown and six receptions for 110 yards and another touchdown. In Shanahan’s scheme, Mostert has tremendous upside as the lead back. Tevin Coleman is on I.R. at the moment.
