Friday PM update: The Falcons have removed Calvin Ridley from the final injury report and listed Julio Jones as questionable. There is little chance Jones actually plays this weekend in spite of that tag.

Friday AM update: The Falcons will have Jones test his hamstring with some running at practice on Friday, per Dan Quinn. The Falcons head coach said if the strength isn’t there, they will rule him out for Sunday.

Thursday update: Julio Jones sat out a second straight day of practice and seems unlikely to play on Sunday. Calvin Ridley was limited for a second straight day and seems on track to play on Sunday.

Wednesday update: Jones is not at practice on Wednesday, per NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo. This was expected after he re-aggravated his hamstring on Sunday. His status for Week 5 against the Panthers is iffy at best right now.

The Atlanta Falcons have a short week coming up as they prepare for the Carolina Panthers, and it might leave them shorthanded. Wide receiver Julio Jones re-aggravated his hamstring injury on Monday and is in doubt for Week 5, according to Ian Rapoport.

Jones has been dealing with a hamstring injury for much of the season. He was inactive in Week 3, but then got in three limited sessions last week to play on Monday. Hamstring injuries can be easily aggravated, so this is something that could end up costing Jones. It’s a good bet to consider other options this week, and start preparing yourself for a multi-week absence.

Calvin Ridley is the Falcons No. 1 receiver, but Russell Gage and Olamide Zaccheaus will see plenty of work if Jones misses any time. Zaccheaus ended up leading the Falcons on Monday with eight receptions for 86 yards. Christian Blake was second among the team’s wide receivers with three receptions for 47 yards.
