Saturday update: The Saints have announced Michael Thomas and Jared Cook are both questionable for Week 5 Monday Night Football. They were limited on Saturday.

The New Orleans Saints may be getting closer to getting their top wide receiver and tight end back this week, as both Michael Thomas and Jared Cook were able to get limited practices in on Thursday, per NFL Network’s James Palmer.

Both Thomas and Cook missed last week’s game against the Packers, as Cook didn’t practice with a groin injury while Thomas got in limited practices with a high-ankle sprain. Cook getting back on the field is a good sign while Thomas should be nearing the all-clear soon. Thankfully for both, the Saints face the Chargers on Monday Night Football, which gives them an extra day to get healthy.

If both can return this Monday, we should see Emmanuel Sanders and Tre’Quan Smith lose some work, while Alvin Kamara won’t be relied on quite as much. Plus, Drew Brees’ upside gets a nice boost.
