In a middleweight bout on the preliminary card of UFC Fight Island 5, Tom Breese will meet KB Bhullar live from Fight Island in Abu Dhabi this Saturday and also available on ESPN+.
Breese will come in as the favorite, but this is certainly one that could go either way. 11-2 in his MMA career, Breese is 3-2 in his UFC career and he’s had some success on the back of his tactical striking ability. He’s not a volume striker, but he does land 3.55 significant strikes per minute. He takes just 2.73 though and defends at a high level. The 29-year-old will be fighting the second time this year after being destroyed by Brendan Allen in a one-round bout.
Bhullar will be starting his UFC career with an 8-0 record in MMA, and the Canadian has won in a variety of ways with four knockouts, two submissions and two decisions.
He still has a fight in Dana White’s Contender Series still scheduled for November 4th, which is very unusual for a competitor making their main roster debut. At 6-foot-4
“The Bengal” will be fighting for just the first the first time this year after three bouts in 2019. One important note is the six fights that Bhullar won via knockout or submission were all over before the end of the first round. He’s an entertaining fighter, but of course there is always risk involved when moving into the UFC for the first time.
Here are the betting odds at DraftKings Sportsbook for Tom Breese vs. KB Bhullar at UFC Fight Island 5 on October 10th.
