New England Patriots quarterback Cam Newton has struggled in his return to the team after battling back from testing positive for the coronavirus. He will look to get back on track in Week 8.

If you are a fantasy owner with Newton on the team, here’s a deeper look at him heading into the weekend.

Fantasy Football analysis: Patriots QB Cam Newton

In his last two games, Newton has thrown five interceptions and just 255 yards with zero touchdowns through the air. In a blowout loss to the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, he completed 9 of 15 passes for 98 yards with three interceptions and zero touchdowns. Newton wasn’t much of a factor on the ground, rushing five times for 19 yards. He was benched late in the game but will be the Patriots’ starting quarterback moving forward.

Newton and the Patriots will match up with the Buffalo Bills on Sunday. In its last game, Buffalo held New York Jets quarterback Sam Darnold to just 120 yards on 12 of 23 passing with two interceptions and zero touchdowns. One thing to note heading into the weekend is the potential for high winds and rain on Sunday.

Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation

Newton is a No. 2 quarterback for fantasy purposes this weekend.
