It is pretty hard to make a good case for using anyone from the New York Jets in a fantasy lineup this week, but if there was one position group who could maybe be on the radar this week, it’s the team’s running backs. But even that’s no simple decision.
Fantasy Football analysis: Jets RBs Frank Gore, La’Mical Perine
Last week, the Jets split the rushing work evenly between Gore and Perine. Both players had 11 carries in their loss to the Bills. Gore managed 60 yards on the ground, compared to just 40 for Perine. Most notably, however, Perine did score a touchdown on some goal-line work. He also has a slight advantage for the snaps he sees on passing down, though being part of the Jets’ passing game isn’t really an advantage at all.
This week the Jets take on the Chiefs, a team that has been somewhat susceptible to running backs. Last week, Phillip Lindsay and Melvin Gordon of the Broncos combined for 147 yards and a touchdown. Perine’s overall involvement in the offense makes him a better choice to start over Gore, but if you can, I’d look for other options.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Start La’Michal Perine. Sit Frank Gore.
