With New York Jets wide receivers Jamison Crowder and Breshad Perriman likely out on Sunday along with Chris Hogan, who is on injured reserve, who will Sam Darnold throw to? Wide receivers Denzel Mims and Braxton Berriors figure to be the beneficiaries of more targets.
Where should fantasy owners be looking among the Jets pass catchers?
Fantasy Football analysis: Jets WRs Denzel Mims, Chris Hogan, Braxton Berrios, Jeff Smith
Perriman has been ruled out as he attempts to return from a concussion, and Crowder is doubtful after missing practice with a groin injury. In the previous game against the Buffalo Bills, Mims led Jets wide receivers with four catches for 42 yards in his NFL debut, Berrios had 35 yards on four catches and Perriman added two catches for 27 yards. Darnold threw for just 20 yards, so the ceiling was certainly limited for the Jets offense.
The Jets will head on the road to play the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday. Kansas is coming off a 43-16 win in which it allowed Drew Lock to complete 24 of 40 passes for 254 yards and two interceptions.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
There’s no way to go into a fantasy matchup with much confidence starting a Jets wide receiver this weekend, but they should throw it quite a bit against Kansas City. If you need a Hail Mary play, Mims would be the option as he should be motivated to get his NFL career going strong. Mims and Berrios are fourth wide receivers at best.
