How to handle Chris Carson, Carlos Hyde’s injury in Week 8 fantasy football

Chris Carson and Carlos Hyde are on the Seahawks final injury report for Week 8. We break down what it means for fantasy football roster decisions.

Game status: Carson and Hyde are inactive, Homer is active for Week 8.

1 p.m. update: Jay Glazer is reporting the Seahawks will be without Chris Carson, Carlos Hyde, AND Travis Homer. DeeJay Dallas is the back to start vs. the 49ers if you need a running back.

Game day update: Chris Carson will test his foot in pregame warmups, but for now is “a true 50-50” decision, according to Adam Schefter.

It’s a terrible week to have to rely on a Seattle Seahawks running back. Chris Carson, Carlos Hyde, and Travis Homer are all on this week’s injury report. Carson and Homer are listed as questionable, the later dealing with a knee injury and the former a foot problem. Hyde is officially doubtful with a hamstring issue. Head coach Pete Carroll said that all three are likely be game-time decisions.

Fantasy impact: Chris Carson (foot), Carlos Hyde (hamstring)

Of the three players, Carson leads the bunch. He’s been the most productive too, with six total touchdowns, 323 rushing yards, and 147 receiving yards. Hyde found the end zone for the second time this season last week. Homer hasn’t had the opportunity to work much behind those two, getting just 18 carries on the season so far.

The next man up is DeeJay Dallas. He’d be in line for a lot of work if all three players have to sit out. The problem is that we just don’t know which running backs will be able to play, and with a late afternoon start, it makes it hard to adjust lineups.
