UPDATE: The 49ers announced Garoppolo is questionable to return due to an ankle injury.

The San Francisco 49ers are struggling against the Seattle Seahawks and quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo is having a rough game. He’s struggled with accuracy, but it also appears his gimpy ankle might still be an issue. As the fourth quarter gets going, the 49ers are making a switch and putting Nick Mullens in the game. Garoppolo was spotted walking to the locker room with a trainer.

The 49ers trail 27-7 and Garoppolo has been ineffective most of the day. He’s completed 11 of 16 passes for 84 yards and an interception and has been sacked three times. This is the second time he’s been replaced. C.J. Beathard came on in his place during an ugly Week 5 loss to the Dolphins.

Mullens is making his first appearance since struggling in a Week 4 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. Mullens completed 18 of 26 for 200 yards in that game, throwing one touchdown and two interceptions.
