Thursday PM update: Fant was upgraded from limited on Wednesday to full on Thursday. He is on track to play this Sunday.
Denver Broncos tight end Noah Fant will practice on Wednesday, per DNVR Broncos’ Zac Stevens. Fant aggravated his ankle injury last week, but did return to the game. Fant can’t seem to get past his ankle injury, so it would make sense that he could be limited this week, but appears likely to play in a good matchup with the Las Vegas Raiders.
The Broncos are thin at tight end now, as they lost Albert Okwuegbunam to a torn ACL last week. At this point, Nick Vannett is the only healthy tight end, so the Broncos are likely going to keep Fant on the field as long as they can.
Fant has shown he can be a force, especially compared to the dearth of tight ends at the position. He ranks fifth in fantasy points per game at the position despite often playing through and missing time in games due to his ankle. If he can get over the hump with that injury, he could be a strong play moving forward.
