The Kansas City Chiefs are on a bye this week, but they had a significant roster move on Wednesday. The team placed wide receiver Mecole Hardman on the Covid-19 injured reserve list.
There is no word yet as to whether he tested positive for the virus or was a close contact to someone who tested positive. If it’s the former, he would be looking at a minimum of ten days on the list. If it’s the latter, he could be removed within the next five days and back at practice next week.
Hardman has been playing some solid football, with at last 48 yards receiving in three straight games. However, Sammy Watkins (hamstring) is expected back after the team’s bye, which could seriously decrease Hardman’s value. While Hardman still has an intriguing ceiling, the floor drops out and he becomes nothing more than a deep league option who will do more for best ball rosters.
