Tale of the Tape for Brendan Allen vs. Sean Strickland

In a 195 lbs. catchweight bout on the preliminary card of UFC Vegas 14, Brendan Allen will take on Sean Strickland Saturday in Las Vegas, and available on ESPN+.

The 29-year-old Strickland is walking into the octagon with professional fighting record of 21-3. and this will be Strickland’s second fight in 2020. “Tarzan” just fought on Halloween where he defeated Jack Marshman in Round 3 by unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 12.

The veteran fighter is coming into Saturday’s match off of a quick turnaround to face Allen, whose match was canceled last weekend due to a positive COVID-19 test. Strickland lands 4.64 strikes per minute with a 36 percent striking accuracy. He absorbs a significant amount of strikes per minute at 3.57, while his defense is at 67 percent. “Tarzan” Strickland is a solid grappler with a 1.42 takedown average per 15, but his accuracy is outstanding at 57 percent.

The 24-year-old Allen is looking for his third consecutive victory in 2020, and has an impressive professional fighting record of 15-3. He is a perfect 3-0 in the UFC over the last two years.

In June at UFC on ESPN 12, Brendan “All In” Allen defeated Kyle Daukaus by unanimous decision. Allen is a tactical striker, recording 2.67 strikes landed per minute with an accuracy of 60 percent. He also doesn’t absorb as many hits accumulating 2.55 per minute. Allen has a 1.42 takedown average per 15 with an accuracy of 37 percent and a submission average of 2.4 per 15.
