Game day update: After being listed as questionable on the Cardinals’ final injury report, Adam Schefter reported that lead back Kenyan Drake will likely play in Week 10 versus the Bills. He’ll test his ankle in pre-game warm ups. If he’s a go, Edmonds is certainly a risky play given the questionable workload. ESPN projects Drake and Edmonds at 13.5 and 9.9 fantasy points, respectively, against a middle-of-the-pack Bills run defense.
Arizona Cardinals running backs Kenyan Drake and Chase Edmonds are a rare combination where both can have value for fantasy purposes in Week 10. What should fantasy owners do with the Arizona backfield this weekend? Let’s take a closer look.
Fantasy Football analysis: Cardinals RBs Kenyan Drake, Chase Edmonds
In Arizona’s last time out, Edmonds was the main back in a 34-31 loss to the Miami Dolphins with Drake out with an ankle injury. Edmonds carried the ball 25 times for 70 yards as Miami focused in on the running game. He also added three catches for 18 yards on three targets.
Drake put in a limited practice on Thursday for the second consecutive day, and he is listed as questionable to play on Sunday.
Arizona will be matched up against the Buffalo Bills at home on Sunday afternoon. Buffalo is coming off a game in which it did not see much of the running game because it built an early lead. The Seattle Seahawks were forced to throw and ran the ball just seven times total for 57 yards.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
If both players are healthy and ready to play on Sunday, Drake is likely back in as a running back No. 2 with Edmonds as a third running back for fantasy purposes. However if Drake is out, it sure seems like Edmonds will be the bell cow, giving him No. 1 running back consideration in a game that should feature quite a few points.
