On Saturday afternoon the 2-5 Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders head to West Virginia to try and knock off the undefeated 6-0 Marshall Thundering Herd in Huntington.
Marshall has been blowing out teams every week so far in 2020. They’ve won every game by at least two scores with a very balanced squad. The Thundering Herd defense is allowing just 252 yards per game this season, and the pass defense is elite having only allowed two opposing quarterbacks to throw for more than 250 yards, while holding rushers to a tiny 2.2 yards per carry. The defense as a whole has only allowed seven total touchdowns through six games, so it’s going to be tough for the Blue Raiders.
Marshall’s offense is averaging close to 40 points per outing, with a ground game that gets over 200 yards each week. Running back Brendan Knox leads with 674 yards rushing and nine scores on the season.
Middle Tennessee should have a tough time, as its weakness is Marshall’s biggest strength. The Blue Raiders give up nearly 250 yards on the ground each week. Their offense is OK, Marshall should have no issue making easy work of them.

The Best Bet
The point total is probably the best chance to make some money. The Marshall O vs. the MTSU defense is a huge mismatch. Marshall should put up a lot of points, and Middle Tennessee will even add in a few.
