Game day update: It’s an ugly day in Pittsburgh, with rain and a wind warning to extend throughout the game. Wind gusts are projected at up to 38 MPH, which could make this a game in favor of the run. JuJu Smith-Schuster and Chase Claypool are projected at 11.1 and 12.1 fantasy points in today’s outing per ESPN Fantasy Football, respectively.
The Pittsburgh Steeler have a really pretty good group of wide receivers, which is a great thing for overwhelming opponents and confusing defense. But it can be a tough picture to sort out for fantasy football. Fortunately, the workload for both JuJu Smith-Schuster and Chase Claypool has stabilized in recent weeks, giving both some fantasy relevance.
Fantasy Football analysis: Steelers WRs JuJu Smith-Schuster, Chase Claypool
Smith-Schuster was the most productive receiver on the team last week against the Dallas Cowboys. He caught six passes on seven targets for 93 yards and a touchdown. Claypool, the most targeted receiver of the bunch, caught eight passes on 13 throws his way, for 69 yards.
While Smith-Schuster sees most of his targets on short routes underneath, it’s a decent enough workload to make him an option in fantasy lineups. Claypool has been more of a boom or bust, but he’s getting to the point where his floor is high enough to tolerate the risk in a lineup. The Bengals are a team that could really struggle to deal with Claypool’s versatility too.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Start JuJu Smith-Schuster and Chase Claypool.
