Fresh off another embarrassing loss, the Florida State Seminoles hope to change their fortunes Saturday against the NC State Wolfpack.

Florida State just endured one of the most difficult weeks of the fledgling Mike Norvell era. Quarterback James Blackman and receiver Tamorrion Terry left the program while star defensive tackle Marvin Wilson will miss the rest of the season with injury. Those losses will hamper an already undermanned Seminoles team that stands just 2-5 at this point in the year.

Meanwhile, NC State has performed at or above expectations, winning four of its first five games including a 30-29 victory over ranked Pittsburgh. The Wolfpack have trailing of since then, suffering a 27-point loss to North Carolina and then blowing a fourth-quarter lead to Miami last week. Saturday’s home matchup with the Seminoles provides a welcome chance to correct course and keep the season moving in a positive direction.

Florida State +10.5: (19% of handle, 35% percent of bets)
NC State -10.5: (81% of handle, 65% percent of bets)

The Best Bet

Florida State appears broken, but NC State’s offense lacks consistency. Some weeks, such as last Friday’s close loss to Miami, the unit scores at will. In others, it barely musters 21 points. If the Wolfpack get an early lead and start chewing clock, it will limit the number of plays for both teams. Otherwise, the most likely scenario involves two sputtering offenses. Either way, the two teams will have a hard time combining for 60 points.
