While several SEC games have been postponed due to coronavirus outbreaks, the South Carolina Gamecocks will head on the road to take on the Ole Miss Rebels to finish the SEC slate on Saturday night.

South Carolina enters this game with a 2-4 record, tied for last place in the SEC West. The Gamecocks lost two straight since a big win over a then-No. 15 Auburn team. In their last outing, South Carolina was destroyed 48-3 to Texas A&M at home. The game was scoreless for the majority of the first quarter, but South Carolina fell apart pretty much the rest of the way, being outgained 530-150. Colin Hill completed 8 of 21 passes for 66 yards and two interceptions.

Ole Miss is also at 2-4 so far this season, coming off a 54-21 win at Vanderbilt, which is really struggling to be competitive this season. The Rebels’ passing game was nearly perfect with Matt Corral completing 31 of 34 passes for 412 yards and six touchdowns. He found Elijah Moore 14 times for 238 yards and three scores as Ole Miss finished with 641 total yards and could not be stopped offensively, though it allowed 421 yards to Vanderbilt.

South Carolina won the last three games of this series including a 48-44 win in 2019.

The Best Bet

The point spread has expanded throughout the week, but we’re still going to take Ole Miss to cover. South Carolina had a bye week to prepare for its biggest home game of the season with the Aggies and it came nowhere close to being competitive. What’s the motivation going to be after that performance for a team without a whole lot to play for with a head coach sitting on the hottest seat in college football? Let’s roll with Ole Miss and that high-powered offense.

Pick: Ole Miss -11.5
