The 29-year-old de Freitas is entering the octagon with a professional fighting record of 12-5. Saturday will be de Freitas’ third-ever fight in the UFC and first of 2020. The last time we saw him in action, “The Spartan” lost to Chris Gutierrez in August 2019 at UFC Fight Night 156 by split decision.
Before making the jump to UFC, de Freitas fought at Shooto Brazil, WOCS 44, JF, NCF, BC, and lots of other letters. The Brazilian mixed martial artist is a competent striker and a tremendous grappler. He is averaging 2.97 strikes per minute with an accuracy of 46 percent. “The Spartan” de Freitas has a 4.00 takedown average per 15 and a takedown accuracy of 50 percent.
Gravely has a professional fighting record of 19-6 and is competing in his second-ever UFC fight. In his debut at UFC Fight Night 166 earlier this year, Brett Johns defeated Gravely by submission in Round 3 via rear-naked choke.
