Good help is hard to find at the tight end position in fantasy football this year. So you might think that in a high volume passing offense like the Cincinnati Bengals, a tight end would find a way to regular productivity. But you would be wrong. Not only does Drew Sample have a tough matchup this week against the Steelers; he’s not consistent enough to get a spot in your lineup.
Fantasy Football analysis: Bengals TE Drew Sample
Up and down, up and down. That’s the way the weeks have gone for Sample. He was blanked in the Bengals’ last game, targeted just once. But the week before that he had five catches for 52 yards. Unfortunately, the production just isn’t there reliably enough to make him a viable fantasy starter.
The Steelers have been incredibly effective against tight ends this season. They’ve allowed just one touchdown to the position, and no opposing tight end has had more than 60 yards in a game against Pittsburgh.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Sit Drew Sample.
