Don’t let the Buccaneers’ Week 9 no-show dent your faith in Mike Evans or Chris Godwin. Both will still be very much worth using in fantasy formats moving forward, including in this week’s matchup against the Carolina Panthers.
Fantasy Football analysis: Bucs WRs Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Scotty Miller
Evans is never the most consistent player, but he still leads Tampa Bay in most receiving categories — targets, catches, yards, touchdowns, etc. That was the case against the Saints when he gained a team-high 64 yards from scrimmage. Yes, a team high! He will probably see a lot of Panthers cornerback Rasul Douglas this weekend. He has played well on the whole, but Evans posted a 7-104-1 line against the Panthers back in Week 2.
Godwin’s broken finger seemed to contribute to one drop on Sunday night, but otherwise, he was fine. He played a wide majority of the snaps, he caught three passes and ultimately allayed fears that he came back too soon from his injury.
But since Godwin is back and Antonio Brown has been added to the mix, Miller is an afterthought for now. He was seventh in the pecking order in terms of targets in Week 9 and caught one pass.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Fire up Evans ($6,300) and Godwin ($6,000) as WR2 in season-long formats. Neither man has a fantastic matchup on paper, but opportunity and talent are on their sides. Miller can be ignored until further notice.
