Matthew Stafford was a dud in Detroit’s Week 9 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings. He struggled without Kenny Golladay, who didn’t play because of a hip injury. Stafford will look to redeem himself against a Washington Football Team defense that’s been exceptional at getting after the quarterback.
Fantasy Football analysis: Lions QB Matthew Stafford
Minnesota has one of the worst pass defenses in the NFL this season while Washington has given up less passing yards than any team. Washington also ranks fourth in sacks with 27, so this could be a touch matchup for Stafford. While Stafford has had some impressive games this season he’s thrown just four touchdowns and four interceptions in the three games Golladay has missed this season. Stafford has 10 touchdowns passes and three interceptions in his five games with Golladay at his disposal. Stafford hasn’t had a problem totaling receiving yards, but not having a go-to guy out wide limits his upside.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
I’d lean toward sitting Stafford in season-long fantasy. He’s only had below average games without his top receiver.
