The New Orleans Saints finished their season series against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers undefeated with a 38-3 win to propel them to the top of the NFC South. It was an easy win for the Saints, some might even say it was a Brees. Drew threw for four touchdowns, but will the trend continue in Week 10?
Fantasy Football analysis: Saints QB Drew Brees
Despite the four touchdowns, Drew Brees ended up as the 14th-ranked fantasy QB on the week with a modest 23.68 DKFP. It was close to his season-high, which is slightly troubling from a fantasy perspective. While the offensive efficiency has been great for New Orleans fans, it has established a relatively low ceiling for the veteran quarterback. As the Saints match up with the 49ers in Week 10, they’re favored by nine points. If it’s another blowout for New Orleans, Brees will likely fall somewhere in the 15-25 DKFP range, even with the full receiving corps at his disposal.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
While he might not have the potential of a Mahomes, Murray, or Wilson, Drew Brees is a pretty safe QB option. Start him as a low-end QB1.
