The NFL has just about wrapped up Week 10, with the Vikings and Bears left to play on Monday Night Football. That game has playoff implications, but could actually moderately impact the draft order coming out of this weekend.
Dallas and Washington are tied at 2-7 and .001 apart in strength of schedule. The Cowboys face the Vikings next week, while Washington does not play either team. By Monday’s end, Dallas will either move a little further ahead of Washington or slip behind them based on a Minnesota win or loss.
We’ll be tracking draft order throughout the season, and the No. 1 pick Jets were on a bye this week. They travel to face the Chargers in Week 11, and while they’re sizable underdogs, it remains one of the more winnable games on their schedule. Or maybe we should call it less lose-able?
The Jaguars are a game back of the Jets after nearly upsetting the Packers at Lambeau Field. Jacksonville has a tough final seven games, but the problem is that the Jets seem unlikely to win any games themselves. New York has a realistic shot of going 0-16 this year.
Speaking of New York, the Giants remove themselves from our No. 1 pick watch for the time being. With their win over the Eagles, the Giants improve to 3-7. We’re sticking with just two-win teams for the time-being because of how bad the Jets are. We’ll start looking at the top 10 or 15 picks overall in the near future, but not quite yet.
Here’s the draft order for the top seven teams. SOS serves as the tiebreaker and comes via Tankathon.
- New York Jets: 0-9, .592
- Jacksonville Jaguars: 1-8, .549
- Dallas Cowboys: 2-7, .469
- Washington Football Team: 2-7, .470
- Los Angeles Chargers: 2-7, .507
- Miami Dolphins — from Houston Texans: 2-7, .563
- Cincinnati Bengals: 2-6-1, .521
