Wednesday night’s trio of MACtion features a matchup between two teams atop the West Division when the Central Michigan Chippewas head on the road to take on the Western Michigan Broncos. The winner will have the inside track to represent the division in the MAC title game.
Central Michigan enters with a 2-0 record and covered the spread in two wins over Ohio and Northern Illinois. The Chippewas have been good defensively so far this season, allowing just 4.5 yards per play, which has them ranked 14th in all of college football even though it is a limited sample size.
Western Michigan’s offense is its strength so far this season after a pair of victories. Like the Chippewas, WMU also covered both games so far. The Broncos offensive side of the ball is averaging 7.1 yards per play, second only to Oregon in all of college football. Western Michigan is ranked third in yards per pass attempt at 11.5 yards with quarterback Kaleb Eleby.
Western Michigan won five of the last six games of this series including a 31-15 in 2019.

The Best Bet
Through two games, it appears the matchup to watch will be Western Michigan’s offense against Central Michigan’s defense. Who’s going to win that one? Well to be honest, I’m not too sure, so we’re just going to go with the total in this one. The total reached 60 just once in the last four meetings, and I trust the defenses will do just enough to get the job done.
