Clyde Edwards-Helaire returns to practice on Friday for Week 11

Chiefs RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire is dealing with an illness in Week 11, but we don’t have any more details yet. He has NOT been placed on the Covid-19 injured reserve list, which is a plus.

Friday update: Edwards-Helaire returned to practice on Friday after being out Thursday due to illness, per Harold Kuntz. He should be good to go against the Raiders.

The Kansas City Chiefs had a notable new addition to their injury report following Thursday’s practice. Running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire was a DNP on Thursday due to what is listed as an “illness.” It does not specify what kind of illness, but the team has yet to place Edwards-Helaire on the Covid-19 injured reserve list, so that is good to see.

That being said, we don’t know the nature of the illness or what it might cost him. The Chiefs have one more Week 11 practice, on Friday, and then play the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday Night Football. If Edwards-Helaire gets back to at least a limited practice, that will be a big plus.

The big concern will be if he is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game. It’s the last game of the day, which would leave fantasy football managers scrambling — particularly if you do not have Le’Veon Bell also rostered.
