Heading into this season, the two Detroit Lions players that most fantasy managers were targeting were wide receiver Kenny Golladay and tight end T.J. Hockenson. Both players are guaranteed to give you at least top-15 production every week. However, one player that somehow get lost in the sauce is veteran wide receiver Marvin Jones Jr.
The 30-year-old Jones has had a quiet 2020 season with 19 receptions for 226 yards and a touchdown. That lone touchdown came in Week 2 against the Green Bay Packers, where he had four receptions (six targets) for 23 yards. Coincidentally, that was Jones’ best fantasy performance as he scored a pedestrian 8.3 points.
But on Sunday afternoon against the Colts, Jones resurfaced with three receptions for 39 yards and two touchdowns. The last time he had a two-touchdown game, you have to go back to Week 11 of last season against the Cowboys. Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford might need to target Jones more as Golladay left Sunday’s game with an injury. Golladay came into the contest questionable with a hip injury. If he has to miss anytime, Jones becomes the next best-receiving option behind Hockensen. The veteran wideout is currently rostered in 48-percent of Yahoo fantasy leagues.
