The Indianapolis Colts’ running back situation is as confusing as ever. The backfield work has been split by Jonathan Taylor and Nyheim Hines for most of the season but Jordan Wilkins emerged as the top rushing threat against the Lions in Week 8. Wilkins doubled his season high an notched 20 carries for 89 yards and a score. He also hauled in a 24-yard reception. Wilkins is worth considering as a waiver wire pickup if he’s able to make the Colts reduce Taylor’s role.
Wilkins is only rostered in 0.5 percent of ESPN leagues so it shouldn’t be too hard to pick him up in most leagues. You shouldn’t expect a ton from Wilkins consistently because the Colts are one of the least productive run teams in the NFL this season. However, getting a back who could come close to 20 touches is too good to pass up.
