Corey Davis: Early waiver wire option in Week 9

Corey Davis posts big day versus Bengals, leading the Titans with 128 receiving yards and a score, an early waiver wire option in Week 9.

A few years ago, the Tennessee Titans spent a first-round selection on Corey Davis. Davis was supposed to be the No. 1 receiving option in Tennessee, but wideout A.J. Brown took that title away from him. However, the former Western Michigan standout had a good game in the Titans’ 31-20 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday.

Davis led both teams in receiving with eight receptions (10 targets) for 128 yards and a touchdown. The last time Davis posted a 100-yard game was in Week 1 against the Denver Broncos, where he had seven receptions (eight targets) for 101 yards and a touchdown. It was also the second consecutive week where the veteran wideout had at least ten targets and a touchdown.

That being said, one could infer that Davis is a player to keep an eye on this week on waivers. Every week, opposing defenses are going to try to take Derrick Henry and Brown out of the game. That means it will be up to Davis and tight end Jonnu Smith to step up in the receiving department. As of now, Davis is rostered in 45-percent of Yahoo fantasy leagues.
