Ahead of the 2020 NFL season, DraftKings Sportsbook set projected win totals for each NFL team. Some teams are well on their way to exceeding these win totals, outperforming the bar oddsmakers set for them prior to Week 1. Other teams need a bit more help to get there.
The Ravens are not one of those teams who will need help to reach their projected win total. The defending AFC North champs came into the 2020 season, looking to avenge their postseason loss to the Tennessee Titans. To do just that, Baltimore’s front office acquired Calais Campbell in a trade from Jacksonville and then drafted linebacker Patrick Queen in the first round. On offense, everything revolves around the reigning MVP quarterback Lamar Jackson and him continuing to take that next step in his progression.
Baltimore now sits at 6-4 heading into their Week 12 matchup against the Steelers. This matchup was originally scheduled for Thursday Night Football on Thanksgiving but was postponed due to COVID-19 concerns. If the game proceeds Tuesday as scheduled, the Ravens will be in dire straights considering the recent COVID-19 breakout at their facility. They’ll be without QB Lamar Jackson, two of their three running backs in the main rotation, along with key pieces on the offensive and defensive lines.
The Ravens will need to win out their remaining schedule in order to meet their preseason projected win total. What seemed like a lock heading into 2020 begins to crumble; they’re hanging onto this projected win total by a wing and a prayer.
