Friday update: The Lions have ruled Golladay OUT for Week 9.
Wednesday update: Golladay was not at practice to open the week, per Michael Rothstein, as expected. He will not be playing on Sunday
The Detroit Lions are going to have to make due without productive wide receiver Kenny Golladay for at least one game, and maybe more. Golladay injured his hip on Sunday and is going to miss at least one game, per Ian Rapoport. The expectation is Golladay will miss Week 9 vs. the Minnesota Vikings and then be week-to-week moving forward.
Golladay has already missed two games this season. Through five games played, he has 20 receptions for 338 yards and two touchdowns. Danny Amendola is second with 324 yards on 18 catches, while tight end T.J. Hockenson is third in receiving with 321 yards, but a team-leading 29 receptions and four touchdowns.
The Lions face a Vikings defense in Week 9 that entered this past week ranked 15th against the pass. They gave up 291 passing yards to Aaron Rodgers in a Week 8 win, with wide receiver Davante Adams finding the end zone three times on seven receptions for 53 yards.
