Gameday update: After going up against the Bengals’ defense last week, the Steelers wide receivers get another favorable matchup in the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. Last week, Jacksonville’s defense allowed Marquez Valdes-Scantling to record (game-high) 149 yards and a touchdown, while Davante Adams had (game-high) eight receptions for 66 yards and a touchdown. With that in mind, we should expect both JuJu Smith-Schuster and Chase Claypool to feast on the perimeter. ESPN projects Smith-Schuster, Claypool to score 10.5 and 11.5 fantasy points, respectively.
JuJu Smith-Schuster was a beneficiary from the Steelers’ 36-10 blowout victory over the Cincinnati Bengals last week, as was Chase Claypool. The former racked up the teams’ most targets, while the latter scored the most touchdowns (two). Is this production and spread of fantasy wealth sustainable in Week 11, though?
Fantasy Football analysis: Steelers WRs JuJu Smith-Schuster, Chase Claypool
The Jacksonville Jaguars are giving up the tenth-most DKFP per game to opposing wide receivers, while also allowing opposing quarterbacks to target their WRs at the eighth-lowest total of any defense. What can we take from that? Well, it essentially means that passing games are able to be extremely efficient against Jacksonville’s defense. Smith-Schuster and Claypool should be considered top plays at their position, regardless of Ben Roethlisberger’s tendency to share the targets. Both JuJu and Chase recorded their second-best fantasy performances of the season last week and will be in a good spot to improve on those numbers this week.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Start JuJu as a WR1. Start Claypool as a WR2.
