In a welterweight bout on the preliminary card of UFC 255, Daniel Rodriguez will fight Nicolas Dalby Saturday in Las Vegas and available on ESPN+.
The 33-year-old Rodriguez walks to the octagon with a professional fighting record of 13-1. He’s also won three-straight UFC bouts, including nine consecutive overall in his fighting career. Rodriguez’s last fight took place at UFC on ESPN 15 in August, where he defeated Dwight Grant in Round 1 by knockout.
The last time “D-Rod” Rodriguez suffered a loss was December 2017 at Combate Americas 19, as Victor Reyna defeated him by split decision. Rodriguez is a phenomenal striker as he lands 8.46 strikes per 15 minutes, with 48 percent accuracy. The southpaw absorbs a significant amount of strikes per minute at 7.14 while defending them at 55 percent.
The California native also likes to use takedowns inside the cage, with a 1.83 takedown average per 15 minutes. He’s good at landing them with an accuracy of 88 percent.
Dalby is coming into the UFC APEX with a professional fighting record of 18-3-1 (2 NC). The 36-year-old from Denmark last fought in July at UFC on ESPN 14. In that bout he lost to Jesse Ronson in Round 1 by rear-naked choke, but the fight ended up being a no-contest because Ronson tested positive for Metandienone.
Dalby will be looking to get a win in his second UFC bout this year on Saturday. The 5-foot-11 veteran fighter lands 3.17 significant strikes per 15 minutes, but only with 38 percent accuracy. He also absorbs 3.19 strikes absorbed and defends them at 54 percent. Just like his opponent, “Lokomotivo” likes to use takedowns with a 1.74 takedown average and accuracy of 45 percent.
