Gameday update: This is not a great week for anybody on the Jaguars’ offense, except for maybe rookie running back James Robinson. After an impressive Week 9 against the Texans, where he scored 20.6 fantasy points, DJ Chark scored 5.6 fantasy points against a tougher defense in Green Bay. In his last four games, the second-year WR has produced last than 10 points three times. Keelan Cole had a good game last week both on offense and special teams, but it’s tough to see him replicate that again on Sunday. ESPN projects Chark, Cole to score 8.2 and 6.8 fantasy points, respectively.
One problem with a rookie seventh-round pick at starting quarterback is that it depresses the fantasy football production from a team’s otherwise decent wide receivers. Add to that a tough matchup against the Steelers this week, and it makes the Jaguars wideouts a dicey option for any lineup this week.
Fantasy Football analysis: Jaguars WRs DJ Chark, Keelan Cole
Chark is typically a solid option for most WR2 spots. Last week he had a down game with quarterback Jake Luton struggling. Chark finished with four catches on five targets with 56 yards. The week before that he posted his best game of the season with 146 yards and a touchdown against Houston. Both of those defenses are considerably weaker than the Steelers. Still, the Jags are going to have to throw the ball some, and Chark still has some value as a WR3.
Cole had seven targets last week, catching five of them for 47 yards and a touchdown. He had just 18 yards in the two games before that. Consistency is a big issue with these two thanks to the offensive struggles.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Start D.J. Chark as a WR3. Sit Keelan Cole.
