There might not be a more confusing, more frustrating running back committee situation in all of pro football than the three-headed monster that is the Los Angeles Rams’ backfield. In any given week, some combination of Darrell Henderson, Malcolm Brown, and Cam Akers will produce some fantasy points, thanks to a team devoted to its run game, but deciding which player belongs in your fantasy lineup can be a guessing game at best.
Fantasy Football analysis: Bucs RBs Darrell Henderson, Cam Akers, Malcolm Brown
Last week against Seattle, Brown had six carries for 33 yards and two touchdowns. He last found the end zone back in Week 7, and prior to that one hadn’t done it since the season opener. Henderson also hit pay dirt last week, his first score since Week 5. And now Cam Akers is fully healthy and expected to get a bigger role in the mix. He led the team with 10 carries last week, for 38 yards. The game before that he had nine carries, one less than Brown.
This week they’ll face the Bucs, a team that’s given up seven rushing touchdowns to running backs this season, including two in their last three games.
Brown is probably the best choice among three, given his touchdown upside of late. Akers is likely to have a larger role going forward, so he’s got some possibility as a low-end RB3. Henderson is probably the odd man out.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Start Cam Akers and Malcolm Brown at RB3. Sit Darrell Henderson.
