The New England Patriots just don’t throw the ball the way they used to, which means there isn’t much fantasy football production to be found among their wide receivers. However, the group isn’t to be overlooked completely. And this week against Houston there’s fantasy value to be had.
Fantasy Football analysis: Patriots WRs Jakobi Meyers, Damiere Byrd
Meyers has been the best of the bunch lately. Last week against Baltimore he caught five passes on seven targets for 59 yards. But his main contribution came when he threw a 24-yard touchdown pass to give the Patriots the lead against the Ravens. The week before that he posted 169 yards on 12 catches against the Jets.
Byrd was blanked last week in a game where the Patriots didn’t even have 200 yards passing. He had 65 yards on five catches the week before that against the Jets. He’s probably not getting enough work to rely on in fantasy.
Meyers makes for a decent WR3 option this week against Houston. The Texans have let four receivers post games with more than 100 yards so far this season, and they’ve found the end zone 13 times.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Start Jakobi Meyers. Sit Damiere Byrd.
