The New Orleans Saints are certainly going to have an interesting looking offense this week with Taysom Hill starting in place of an injured Drew Brees and the expected starter Jameis Winston. But one thing that will at least look normal about this one is Alvin Kamara as an RB1 in fantasy football lineups.
Fantasy Football analysis: Saints RBs Alvin Kamara, Latavius Murray
Kamara missed two practices, Wednesday and Thursday, this week, but was back in action on Friday. It was a foot issue. Last week he scored three times against the 49ers, two rushing touchdowns and one receiving. He had 83 yards on seven catches and 15 rushing yards on eight attempts.
While the Falcons brand this season has been a weak pass defense, Kamara’s jack-of-all-trades role as an offensive weapon makes him too essential to this offense to see any kind of reduced role. He should slice up the Falcons on the ground and in the air.
Murray’s got a role to play in this offense too. He had 57 yards on nine carries last week, and 39 the week before that against the Bucs. But for fantasy purposes, his role just doesn’t translate into bankable stats, unless Kamara is out.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Start Alvin Kamara. Sit Latavius Murray.
