Farmageddon is upon us once again in Big XII country with the Kansas State Wildcats desperate to get back on track when traveling to Ames to meet No. 17 Iowa State.

Cruising to a 4-0 start in Big XII play, the Wildcats have hit the skids with back-to-back losses to West Virginia and Oklahoma State. Leading 12-0 at the half, the Wildcats saw their lead slowly slip away in the second half before a Jason Taylor II fumble return for a touchdown turned the game on its head. KSU’s desperation attempt tp retake the lead late was thwarted with quarterback Will Howard throwing an interception with 1:47 left in the contest.

Meanwhile, Matt Cambell’s Cyclones have had two weeks to rest after toppling Baylor 38-31 in Ames. ISU is ranked 24th in both offensive and defensive SP+ with their defense only yielding 3.2 yards per rush this season.

Roster attrition is reportedly affecting the Wildcats this week with the team scrambling to get fresh bodies on the field in practice this week due to COVID protocols, so keep that in mind.

The Best Bet

Both of these teams have been trending in opposite directions and while Kansas State will try to muddy the waters and keep the score low, the Brock Purdy-led Cyclone offense should do just enough to cover the 10.5 point total at home.

Pick: Iowa State (-10.5)
