How and what to watch for Virginia Tech vs. Pitt

Two middle of the pack teams in the ACC will are aiming to get back above .500 in this late-November showdown.

Barreling towards the end of the ACC schedule, two middle of the pack conference foes will look to poke their heads above .500 when the Virginia Tech Hokies make the short trek up to Heinz Field to meet the Pittsburgh Panthers on Saturday afternoon.

The hot-and-cold Hokies fell just short of upsetting No. 9 Miami last Saturday, only mustering 362 yards of offense in 25-24 loss. It was a flat performance by an otherwise explosive Virginia Tech offense. The Hendon Hooker led attack ranks 13th in offensive SP+, seventh in explosiveness and fifth in rushing success rate this season.

The last time Pitt took the field, they had themselves a bit of a get right game by demolishing Florida State on the road 41-17. Coming away with three interceptions including a pick-six, the Panthers defense shined once again. That unit ranks 15th in defensive SP+ and are keeping opponents behind schedule with a ranking of fifth in defensive success rate.
