How public is betting and DFS considerations for Brandon Moreno vs. Brandon Royval

In a flyweight bout on the preliminary card for UFC 255, Brandon Moreno will face off against Brandon Royval Saturday live from Las Vegas and available on ESPN+.

The 26-year-old Moreno is entering the octagon as the favorite, with a two-match winning streak under his belt. “Assassin Baby” has a professional fighting record of 17-5-1, with his last fight taking place at UFC Fight Night 170. In that contest, Moreno defeated Jussier Formiga by unanimous decision.

Moreno averages 3.00 significant strikes per 15 minutes, with an accuracy of 34 percent. He absorbs 2.94 strikes per minute, while his defense is at 63 percent. He can also wrestle as he has a 1.75 takedown average per 15 minutes and takedown accuracy of 40 percent.

As for Royval, he is walking into the APEX with a professional fighting record of 12-4. The 28-year-old rookie has won five-straight pro matches, including his first two UFC fights. Royval made his debut earlier this year at UFC on ESPN 9, where he defeated Tim Elliott in Round 2 via arm-triangle choke.

Royval has 1.06 takedowns per 15 minutes and a perfect takedown accuracy of 100 percent in the octagon. He also has an impressive submission average of 3.2 per 15, which could be the deciding factor in this fight. As for striking, he lands 3.9 significant strikes per minute with 52 percent accuracy.

Royval, who is the underdog and fairly new to the UFC, is averaging 104.8 fantasy points per fight. In both of his fights, he got submission victories in Round 2. Will see that again? It doesn’t appear that way according to Vegas. But at only $7,600, the 28-year-old could be a value play in your lineup.
